Writing this as a checkpoint at the end of my freshman year of college! My first home away from home at UNC has been more than I could’ve ever asked for, and I’m so grateful for everything I got to experience.

At first it was a little hard to balance art-making with the hectic life in college, but I worked on over 14 pieces!

To recap:

  • I started “the rockery” project, where I pick up a random rock from around campus, paint it, and then put it back. Hopefully it makes other people smile as much as it does for me :’)
    • I made 5 of these!
  • Something that made me really happy is that I painted a lot more customs. I love adding flair to everyday items because it makes life more colorful!
    • 4 phone cardholders
    • 3 tote bags
    • 3 pairs of shoes
  • Also worked on sketching. It doesn’t come to me as easily as painting does since I never learned the fundamentals of drawing, but I made a few this year that I really liked. Hopefully over the summer I’ll sketch more!
